Origin
How LexReady Started
I saw the gap before I had a name for it.
As an internationally trained lawyer navigating entry into a new jurisdiction, I experienced firsthand what qualified lawyers often face: not a lack of ability, but a lack of structure. The knowledge to practise was there. The map for how to actually operate was not.
But this wasn't just an ITL problem. The more lawyers I spoke with, at every stage and in every practice setting, the clearer it became. The operational realities of practice, the unwritten expectations, and the professional pressures that accumulate quietly over years are rarely addressed openly. By anyone.
Capable, qualified lawyers remain on the outside or struggle silently on the inside, not for lack of ability, but for lack of structure and honest conversation.
So I built what was missing. Intentionally.Those conversations became structure.That structure became LexReady.

Founder
Abimbola Delalu
Bim is a family lawyer, legal educator, and the founder of LexReady. She practises at BIM LAW in Calgary, Alberta, where she works with clients navigating some of the most demanding personal and legal circumstances a person can face.
LexReady grew directly from her practice experience — from the gap between what legal training provides and what legal practice actually demands. She built the platform to create the structure, conversation, and community she wished had existed earlier.
She also hosts Family & Beyond, a podcast exploring family law, relationships, and the decisions that shape people’s lives.
